LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Department of Community Corrections reported Monday that an inmate had died, apparently from natural causes.
Roy Lee McCranie, 60, was pronounced dead at 8:10 a.m. at the Northeast Community Correction Center in Osceola, according to a news release.
McCranie had been hospitalized three times for medical issues including liver failure since he arrived at the prison June 12, the release says.
The department said McCranie was serving a four-year sentence for drug-related convictions in Randolph County.
