Due to growing concerns over the COVID-19 situation, and after the announcement from the Governor of Arkansas, Department of Education, the Arkansas Activities Association implemented a dead period for all member schools. That dead period began Tuesday, March 17, 2020.

With Governor Asa Hutchinson announcing Thursday that all schools will remain closed until April 17, the Association has extended the athletic dead period until that date.

During this time coaches, licensed teachers, coaches, and registered volunteers shall be prohibited from engaging in any type of activity involving student-athletes weather it be practice, training, weightlifting, tryouts, competition, or travel.

School athletic facilities are to be closed during this period.
