ARHOME Gets Nod From Senate Committee

ARHOME won approval in a State Senate committee Thursday.  The Senate Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee approved the Medicaid expansion that encourages recipients to work instead of forcing them to do it.

The work requirement that is currently in place has been blocked by the courts and the administration of President Joe Biden.

If approved, ARHOME would still place recipients on private insurance paid for by the federal government and the state of Aransas.  Those who do not work or go to school could be moved to a traditional fee-for-service Medicaid program.

The current program has over 300,000 people in it.

ARHOME now is headed to the full Senate for a vote.
