LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Department of Transportation is making final preparations for a snow event that official Dave Parker says will make commutes challenging for drivers in the state.

“The snow is manageable, we can plow it we let it come down we pretreat, we let it come down, piles up, we pile it away and usually its 45 degrees the next day here in Arkansas,” says Parker.

“But freezing rain is probably the worst thing of all because it comes down as rain and immediately freezes and you get that small sheet of ice that’s really tough to see at night and it’s hard to manage.”
