The celebration of hip-hop’s 50th anniversary continues with Apple Music’s Hip-Hop DNA, an audio series hosted by Ebro Darden.

The series tackles a variety of topics within the genre, discussing how rappers are influenced by their predecessors in “The Intro” and highlighting the various acts that came from the Bronx on the “Bronx Tales” episode.

Other episodes cover the relationship between rap and rock (“Just Wanna Rock”); rappers born in the Big Apple (“NY State of Mind”); rap stars, including Nicki Minaj and Nas, who born in Queens (“It’s A Queens Thing”); and the different elements of hip-hop. The series has 20 episodes in total; the first five, which are now available, fall under the subtitle “Origins.”
