SINGLE VEHICLE FATALITY ACCIDENT ON HARDIN REED ROAD

Last night,  December 20th at 11:55 p.m. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle accident with injury involving at least one occupant along Hardin Reed Road.

EASI Ambulance Service and Hardin Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene. Upon arrival on scene, first responders found the lone occupant, Anna Marie Veazey, 19 of Pine Bluff, Arkansas had been ejected from her sport utility vehicle, a 2018 silver Dodge Journey.

A preliminary investigation was conducted and revealed that while traveling south on Hardin Reed Road, Veazey lost control of her vehicle and struck a utility pole at the intersection of Curly Drive. Veazey’s vehicle overturned and flipped multiple times before ejecting her.  Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher pronounced Veazey dead at the scene.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is still on-going, said Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Operation Commander, Major Lafayette Woods, Jr.
