Wednesday is United Way Day on Oldies 1013 and this week Jason Duren was joined by Tamala Garth of the CASA Women’s Shelter who talked about their effort to make Christmas a happy day for children whose mother has stayed at the shelter in the past year.

Morning Show host Greg Horne said it obviously an emotional thing when people come there and asked what CASA is doing to try and help the people who come there.

Duren then said this.

Garth said CASA is a 40-bed facility and right now is not full but frequently sees more use around the holidays. She went on to say that staffers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to take calls from those who need help.
