With new police Chief Denise Richardson being sworn-in Wednesday, the subject of money for the department came up when Council member Joni Alexander appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

Alexander was robbed at gunpoint three weeks ago and morning show host Greg Horne said Pine Bluff continues to produce 15-16- and 17-year-old maniacs. Alexander’s late father was a Pine Bluff Police officer and her husband is the former Jefferson County Sheriff and current Jefferson County Judge.

Horne pointed out that many of the mass shooting suspects around the country have been in their late teens or early 20’s while in Pine Bluff, the suspects involved in a number of our homicides are younger and asked Alexander what is causing that.

She said many of the young suspects share similar characteristics and by asking the right questions, those prone to violence can be identified more easily.
