Last week, Pine Bluff City Council Member Ivan Whitfield filed a police report alleging that Parks and Recreation Director Sam Glover misspent taxpayer money.

On Tuesday, Council Member Joni Alexander, who like Whitfield will leave the council at the end of the year talked about Whitfield’s actions when she appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show.

Morning show host Greg Horne said that was one of the issues that Whitfield raised and City Attorney Althea Hadden-Scott said she was looking at ways to get the money back. He went on to say that when Parks and Rec took over Harbor Oaks, they paid a bill that was owed by the former owner of the golf course.

Community Development is Larry Matthews who is ensuring that the bills are being paid from the proper line item, she said.

Horne then asked if the Mayor or other members of the council should have been involved in the discussions leading up to Whitfield’s actions.
