Pine Bluff Ward Two Alderman Win Trafford joined the Will and Greg Morning Show on Oldies 101.3 Friday morning

“Everything is day by day,” said Trafford. “Every company seems to be putting proper precautions into place and keeping the economy rolling on that end. We’re just very careful with what we do.”

Trafford said that he is happy that Sunday’s storms did not have a big impact on construction that is ongoing in Jefferson county.

“Fortunately, the big storms didn’t have a big impact on everything except for loss of power at a few different job sites,” said Trafford. “We’re just being vigilant, staying strong, and being proactive.”

Trafford said he believes most citizens in Pine Bluff are taking the coronavirus crisis seriously.

“I think as a whole people are starting to get used to everything and understanding that it is important,” Trafford said. “You’re always going to have a few that think they are bulletproof and aren’t going to do anything, but as I drive around you see people in their vehicles with their mask on. That’s a pretty good indicator of how seriously people are taking this.”

Trafford said that he agrees with Pine Bluff Police Chief Kelvin Sergeant about keeping the current curfew in place for a few more weeks.

“I agree with him,” Trafford said. “I think we are a week or two out from doing that. I think we’ve got to stay in tune to what the Governor says each day, and how our cases are going. When we start seeing that decline, we start lifting a few restrictions. I think the curfew is a good thing for now.”

“Staying at home, yes, that’s a good thing,” Trafford said. “The beauty of what we have is that if you need to get out and do something, if you need to go to work and you’re an essential worker. If you need supplies, if you need medical attention, get out and about. If you just want to just drive around and get some fresh air, go walk, that’s a good thing. But don’t just go out and hang out with your friends and try to get together in large groups. That’s not going to work. That’s going to get busted up in our city.”
