Hunting season in the state of Arkansas is now less than a month away and some changes are coming. Jason Hooks from the Delta Rivers Nature Center was a guest of Rick Walker and Sunrise Deltaplex and discussed some updates, including a new opening date for bear season.
Hooks said they hope to have the new hunting guide out in stores by the end of the month but isn’t positive when distribution will be complete. He talked about the change in how reporting needs to be done by those who hit deer or other animals with their vehicles. A toll free number can be found at the Game and Fish website to report the incidents.
Chronic Wasting Disease continues to be an issue and has shown up in the southern part of the state.
