A 19-year-old Pine Bluff man was arrested Sunday in connection with the shooting death of another man earlier that day and will be held without bond after Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney ruled prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with capital murder.

Lamanion White was taken into custody after a witness to the incident identified White as the person who got into an altercation with the victim inside the West End Pool Hall at 3303 W. 2nd Ave. at 3:07 a.m.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said when police arrived at the scene, they found the victim, later identified as Courtaums Williams, 19, on the ground beside a vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

They also located a witness who was taken to the Detective Office to be questioned.

White and a second suspect, Kristopher Walters, 18, were both located and questioned by police. Walters asked for an attorney and during the court hearing was released pending further investigation.

After White was read his rights, he made a statement to police.

White said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court March 3.
