During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said Cole was accused of taking a pack of cigarettes and a drink from a convenience store and police and she had been handcuffed and told she was being detained pending further investigation.

Police reported that Cole kicked one of the officers in the stomach and the other received an injury to the thumb.

Spradlin said because the injuries were minor, the second-degree battery allegations may be reduced to resisting arrest. Cole Has a prior conviction for shoplifting.

She was told to come back to court Feb. 14.
