A $15,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Texas man accused of spitting on a police officer who was trying to arrest him for shoplifting.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to chare Marcus Ollie, 48, of Lancaster, Texas with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The allegation is based on an affidavit by Pine Bluff Police Detective Jason Boykin that a deputy prosecutor presented in court.

Ollie said he would represent himself and was told to come back to court March 12.
