A $12,500 cash only bond was set Monday for a Pine Bluff man accused of slipping contraband into the adult detention center.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Clifton Tucker, 43, with furnishing prohibited articles.
Because Tucker is currently on probation, prosecutors had asked for a $25,000 cash only bond, but Kearney reduced it at the request of the Public Defender’s Office.
During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Ty Spradlin said on Jan. 18, a black male later identified as Tucker walked into the lobby of the adult jail.
On Friday, Tri-County Drug Task Force investigators, Criminal Investigators and Officers from the State Pardon and Parole Office went to an address in Pine Bluff to question Tucker.
Spradlin said Tucker has been convicted of four or more felonies. He was told to come back to court March 3.
