During a court hearing Monday, prosecutors explained the allegation against Simmons.

Detective Ryan Edwards reported taking a statement from the victim who said Simmons had come into her bedroom and when she told him to leave he pointed a long gun at her and threatened to shoot her.

Court records showed that Simmons has a prior felony conviction.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Simmons after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with terroristic threatening and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court Jan. 27.
