8th annual 5K Run, Walk, Dance to fight Childhood Obesity set to take place Saturday

The Advancing Health Literacy Program (AHLP) media coordinator, Deseray McKinzy joined Oldies 1013 with a featured guest, Portia Jones the special project coordinator with Parks and Recreation to promote their upcoming event. Jones introduced the 8th annual 5K Walk, Run, Dance event to fight against obesity that takes place Saturday, September 17th.

Jones was asked about the event, and she explained it in more detail.

Radio show host Jennifer Lipp asked about the process for registration and Jones spoke about that and explained the breakdown of the event.

Lipp mentioned that since the pandemic getting active has been a challenge for some people and Jones spoke about that and the purpose of the line dance portion of the 5K.

McKinzy also explained how AHLP is in partnership with parks to promote its Get Active Pine Bluff campaign.
