An 82-year-old man died Thursday at Jefferson Regional Hospital of COVID-19, according to Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley.

The residence of the latest victim was not listed in the initial information received.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, 582 people have died as a result of covid-19 since mid-March. The first death reported in Jefferson County was at the hospital on April 4.

Since then, 39 additional people have died at the hospital, seven at a nursing home at White Hall, three at Little Rock hospitals and one at home, with all of the deaths listed as COVID-19 related.
