A $75,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of being involved in a shooting in December.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Jaheem Ramsey, 19, with first-degree battery.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Enrique Soto, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said on Dec. 23, officers were sent to a reported shooting on South Maple Street.

Carson said Ramsey was placed on probation Monday after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of possession of a controlled substance.

He was ordered to have no contact with the victim and said he would hire his own attorney.
