A Pine Bluff man who was a patient at Jefferson Regional Hospital was arrested Thursday evening after threatening to shoot and kill everyone at the hospital.

During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said Kevin D. Watson 45, allegedly repeatedly referred that his shooting would be like the recent shooting in Dumas. Carson stated that Detective Enrique Soto conducted the investigation and interviewed the victim that was involved with the incident.

After police arrived, officers ordered hospital security to check Watsons’ personal belongings and Carson explained what they found.

Watson denied having a gun and stated he did not know who the gun belonged to. Carson told the court that officers had a previous incident that occurred on May 1, 2021, when Watson stated he would come back to the hospital with a gun because the hospital would not admit him.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $75,000 bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Watson with possession of a firearm by a certain person and terroristic threatening. Watson was ordered to have no contact with the victim and told to come back to court on April 19th.
