A $75,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man who allegedly beat the mother of his child, then stole her vehicle and phone.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dante Goolsby with second-degree domestic battery, aggravated robbery, and theft of property.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Tamina Smith, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said police were sent to 200 E. 2nd, the Dub Brassell Detention Center at 11 p.m. on Saturday night in response to a reported battery.

Smith reported that an ambulance was called to take the victim to the hospital and while she was being treated, she told officers that Goolsby had choked her until she almost lost consciousness and she heard him saying go to sleep.

Goolsby was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
