A $7,500 cash only bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man currently on probation who allegedly threatened his wife and pointed a gun at her.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Christopher Kinsey, 28, with aggravated assault on a family or household member and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Corey Wilfong, Deputy Prosecutor Caleb Conrad said an officer was sent to an apartment in the 2600 block of West 34th Avenue Monday where the victim described what happened.

The victim said after police left, Kinsey came back and pointed a gun at her and said he was going to make her live hell and tear up her stuff.

Later, police were sent to an area on Blake Street where Kinsey was chasing his wife with a vehicle and attempting to run her off the road. A traffic stop was conducted, and he was taken into custody.

Conrad said when Kinsey was interviewed, he admitted breaking the window on his wife’s vehicle but denied pointing a gun at her and said he did not have a gun because he was a convicted felon. He also said He also said he was angry because his wife “disrespected him by moving out.”

Court records showed that Kinsey pleaded guilty to residential burglary, theft of property and criminal mischief in 2018 and was placed on probation.

He was ordered to have no contact with his wife until the case is settled.
