A $50,000 bond was set Thursday for two Pine Bluff men accused of a carjacking Tuesday night.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Cameron Harris, 21, and Jaylon Williams, 22, with aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.

Reading from a probable cause affidavit from Detective Jason Boykin, Deputy Prosecutor Beth Carson said at 11 p.m. Tuesday, police were sent to Old Warren Road to investigate a reported carjacking.

Boykin reported that about an hour later, officers were on Howard Drive when they saw the vehicle that had been reported stolen.

Carson said when Harris was interviewed, he said he and Williams were driving around and he took Williams to the car wash to sell some marijuana. He said he did not know Williams had a gun and didn’t know Williams was going to steal the car.

Williams declined to make a statement.

Carson said when the white Chrysler was searched, police found Williams’ identification in the front passenger seat and the victim’s identification and credit cards in the back passenger side of the car.

Harris and Williams were ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled.
