A $50,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of firing shots into a house Friday, then entering the house and physically assaulting one person.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Kyron Cook, 23, with first-degree battery and committing a terroristic act.

Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said police were sent to 2702 Belmoor Drive in response to a reported shooting, then continued.

King said police were given the license plate number of the vehicle Cook was driving and located that vehicle Monday at a residence on University Drive. He said the owner of the residence gave police consent to search and they located an AR-15 .223 caliber rifle with a shell catcher. The owner of the residence told police the weapon belonged to Cook.

When he was questioned, Cook denied any involvement in the incident.

Cook, who King said had no prior criminal history, was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled, and he said he would hire his own attorney.
