A Pine Bluff man was arrested Wednesday after drugs and a gun were found in the vehicle he was driving.

Javeon Lewis, 23, was taken into custody after Tri-County Drug Task Force officers, who were traveling east on 30th Avenue, saw a silver Honda parked on the wrong side of the street.

During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Joe West told the court what happened next.

West said when Lewis was questioned, he said the drugs in the car were his but the gun was not. He said it had been left in the car by another person.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $50,000 bond for Lewis after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with possession of marijuana with the purpose to deliver and simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms.

He said he would hire his own attorney and was told to come back to court on June 26.
