A Pine Bluff man with a prior conviction for misdemeanor domestic battery is facing a felony allegation after being arrested Saturday.

During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff said Calvin Ladd, 28, was convicted of the misdemeanor in April of 2022.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Chris Wieland, she said at 6 a.m. Saturday, police were sent to an apartment at 4601 S. Main in response to a reported domestic disturbance where they spoke to the victim. She said she and Ladd, he husband had gone to a club and then returned to their residence at 6004 S. Cedar St.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Ladd and ordered him to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled.
