Wednesday is United Way Day on Oldies 1013 and this week Ollie Merritt of Voices for Children joined Jason Duren to talk about her agency.

Merritt began by discussing how the Agency provided Christmas gifts to more than 100 children who are in foster care in Jefferson County.

She then went on to say this.

Merritt said a baby was born a week before Christmas and the staff went out and shopped for that newborn. She went on to explain that volunteers deal with children from the age of that newborn almost all  the way until they are 21 years old.
