Twenty-five-thousand-dollar cash only bonds were set Monday for a Pine Bluff couple accused of stealing an air conditioner and other items.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Noah Roush, 21, and Kelly Byus, 44, with residential burglary.

Reading from an affidavit by Sheriff’s Investigator Michael Musgrove, Deputy Prosecutor Shana Alexander said on Saturday, deputies were sent to 8902 Sulphur Springs Road in response to a reported burglary.

Alexander said Roush refused to give a statement and Byus denied the burglary, saying they found the items on the side of the road.

Both are currently on probation, and each pleaded not guilty to criminal mischief and misdemeanor theft of property in connection with the allegation. The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent them, and they were told to come back to court July 11.
