A one-vehicle accident in Cleveland County Saturday resulted in the deaths of two men and injuries to a third.

According to a preliminary report, a 2008 Nissan driven by Yemi Della-Cruz Cordova, 19, of Nacogdoches, La., was southbound on Arkansas Highway 35 at a left-hand curve when the driver lost control and the vehicle rotated left to right in a counter-clockwise direction before skidding sideways off the roadway into a ditch on the east side on two wheels.

The vehicle then hit a standing tree with the rooftop which collapsed the passenger compartment, trapping all three occupants inside.

Cordova and male passenger, later identified as Diego Dominquez-Flores, 2,3 of Mexico were pronounced dead and a second passenger, identified as Pizaro Narciso Pulido, 29, no city listed, was injured and taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital at Pine Bluff.

The accident was reported at 6 p.m. and the deaths were the 169th and 170th so far this year on the state’s highways.
