The Pine Bluff Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead.  

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. Monday officers responded to 1118 W. 5th in reference to a shooting. When officers arrived they found a male shooting victim just inside the door of the residence. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner.  

The victim is 16-years-old. His identity will not be released due to his age, according to police.

The investigation is in the early stages. Two people of interest are being interviewed, according to a press release.

It is currently unknown what part, if any, the two being interviewed had in the shooting.  

The two being interviewed are also juveniles.  

The shooting appears to be the result of an ongoing altercation, according to the release.

The victim’s body will be taken to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.

This is the 16th homicide for Pine Bluff in 2022.
