A $150,000 bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man accused of pointing a gun at a police officer and firing a shot.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Samuel Wilson, 47, with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Christ Wieland, Deputy Prosecutor Lisa McGriff said police were sent to a reported disturbance at 608 W. 28th Ave., at about 9:30 a.m. Thursday. The caller reported that a black male was in their yard acting strange and would not leave.

McGriff said Wilson was taken into custody and was not interviewed because he appeared to be under the influence.

She said Wilson has six prior felony convictions including two for domestic battery.

The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Wilson and he was told to come back to court on June 28.
