A $15,000 bond was set Tuesday for a Pine Bluff man accused of pointing a gun at two women Saturday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charges Donnell Carter, 49, with aggravated assault on a family or household member.

Reading from an affidavit from Detective Corey Wilfong, Deputy Prosecutor Caleb Conrad said Officer Julie Hilliard was sent to 2008 W. 25th in response to a reported armed disturbance and talked to the victims.

Carter was still at the scene when police arrived and when they went to talk to him, he fled in his vehicle and was chased to a relative’s house where he was taken into custody.

Conrad said Wilfong was not able to interview Carter on the 4th because he was intoxicated.

When he was questioned Monday, Carter reportedly said he had followed his girlfriend from work to the house and thought that she was with the man she had been seeing.

Conrad said Carter has been convicted of multiple felonies including domestic battery and being a felon in possession of a firearm but those were about 15 years ago. Carter was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled and said he would hire his own attorney.
