A Sherrill man was arrested Saturday after he allegedly entered an apartment, argued with his ex-girlfriend, and took her vehicle before leaving.

Michael Chidester, 37, who prosecutors said Tuesday has been convicted of three incidents of domestic battery was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled.

Deputy Prosecutor Jay Gerard said during the court hearing that an officer was sent to the apartment in the 1100 block of Vaugine Street where the victim said the front door was open because she and her kids were bringing things inside.

About two hours after the initial incident, police went back to the apartment where the victim said her vehicle had been returned.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $15,000 bond for Chidester after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with residential burglary and theft of property. He was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled.
