A Pine Bluff man was arrested in the early morning hours Tuesday after he allegedly broke into two parked vehicles.

During a court hearing Wednesday, Deputy prosecutor Mircha King said police responded to a reported breaking or entering at 2319 W. 27th Ave., at 2:45 a.m. after being called to assist Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies.

Martavia Shelton, 19, will have to post a $15,000 bond to be released from the adult detention center after Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled Wednesday that prosecutors have probable cause to charge him with two counts of breaking or entering.

In a separate matter, Shelton pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor of carrying a weapon, resisting arrest, theft by receiving, and failure to appear for trial, and a $3,610 bond was set on those allegations.
