A $15,000 bond was set Wednesday for a Rison man who allegedly punched another man during an altercation Monday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Michael Bolen, 29, with second-degree battery.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King said deputies were sent to a reported disturbance at a house in the 1400 block of Lindsey Drive where they talked to the victim.

Sheriff’s Investigator Charles White reported that when he attempted to interview Bolen, he acted confused and did not appear to b coherent enough to understand his rights.

Bolen was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and to come back to court July 12.
