A $100,000 cash-only bond was set Friday for a Pine Bluff man who led multiple law enforcement agencies on a high-speed chase when they attempted to stop the vehicle he was driving.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Dedrick Broyles, 44, with felony fleeing, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, and three counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was also charged with three counts of terroristic threatening stemming from an incident in February in Jefferson County.

Sheriff’s deputies had been looking for Broyles after a warrant was issued for his arrest following an additional incident in January.

Deputy Prosecutor Jill Reed told the court about that incident during a hearing Friday.

Reed said deputies received information that Broyles was leaving a business in Jefferson County driving a white Dodge Charger and Maj. Yohance Brunson contacted White Hall Chief of Police Greg Shapiro and asked White Hall to use their camera system to locate the car.

When Broyles was questioned, he said the drugs and guns in the vehicle were his.

Reed said Broyles is also accused of calling his ex-girlfriend on Feb. 17 and telling her that he was “going to smoke her” and said he “should have finished killing her mother the first time.”

Broyles was ordered to have no contact with the victims until the case is settled and said he would hire his own attorney.
