A Rison woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Highway 79 South Wednesday morning according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
According to the report 50-year-old Sandra Coleman of Rison was driving a 2011 Ford F350 South on US Highway 79 near the Jefferson and Cleveland County line in Jefferson County when her vehicle crossed the center line, striking a 2014 Mack truck heading north at 10:13 a.m.
The driver of the Mack truck, 36-year-old Kimberly Nelms of Montrose, was injured in the crash and transported to Jefferson Regional hospital.
Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The weather was clear and the road was dry at the time of the crash, according to the report.
